Books, books, books, and books!! I spent most summers as a child with my nose plastered to some new novel that I read as quickly as possible so I could move onto the next one. My mom would tell me I needed to get out and enjoy the sun; I needed to play with the other kids. I eventually did. I just read late into the night instead.
I want to keep a list. On the list are included books I have read and recommend. I will also discuss what I am reading at the moment.
THE ROBE
I have been reading this book for months! It is somewhat of a "thick" book. The pages are brittle and the words too small. I find myself reading it off and on. Yet, I do enjoy what I am reading. The story depicts a family who live during the time of Christ's crucifixion. The son finds the robe of Christ and is intrigued by the man who wore the robe. The story is fairly complex, but slow. I am not disappointed - I simply read other books along with this one. I am still not finished ha! But I hope to end soon and give a complete review.
EAT PRAY LOVE
Yes, this is the book that the movie portrays. I have not read much. What I have read I have absolutely adored. Elizabeth Gilbert is a brilliant writer. Her words are very honest and blunt. I like her style. I am almost tempted to mimic her writing! On the other hand, she likes to say the "F" word here and there. I don't appreciate her language. Nothing has seemed too off-colored at this point for me to stop reading. I hope it stays as such because I am enjoying the way she can entertain through reality and every day routines that still keep you reading.
